Where are people in my neighbourhood, who need help and what can I do?
This is the idea, to which the Franziskanerinnen Münster, St. Mauritz had invited the citizens of Telgte and its environment. The needs and the concerns of poor, lonely and ill people had Father Christoph Bernsmeyer OFM experienced as priest in the beginning of the 19th Century very closely. As the result of this situation was the beginning of the congregation of the Franziskanerinnen, Münster St. Mauritz in 1844. In view of the 150th anniversary of Father Christoph Bernsmeyer’s death the congregation wrote out the competition "ICH MACHE MICH STARK".

" We were amazed by the actions, which we became as applications on the table" , Sister Dietmara told, who together with Propst Heinz Erdenbürger and the director of the museum Heimathaus Telgte Thomas Ostendorf, sorted out the submitted proposals. On September 12, 2008 the award was proclaimed in the museum of the Heimathaus, Telgte.
