The Sisters of the German Province received feedback from congregational questionnaire. This is a historical event, said Sister M. Birgitte, we took a view of our life and a view of our reality.
From October 2008 until January 2009 all sisters in all provinces and the region of our congregation were called to participate in a questionnaire action; a comprehensive view of our life in our congregation. This was a resolution of the General Chapter 2006. With an consultant the sisters of the General-Leadership developed this questionnaire with 242 questions on the following 16 themes:
- Life in community
- Religious identity
- Spirituality
- Internationality
- Perspectives/vision and planning
- Leadership in the Congregation
- Communication
- Questions of the Generation
- Openness for the Future in my Province/Region
- From nursing to the healing presence
- Lay Associates in our Congregation
- Financial Resources
- Resources - Work
- Mission for the world
- New members
The analysis of the Congregation should consider all aspects of our life. After all sisters had sent their answered questionnaire to the consultant, the evaluation began. These evaluations are presented now in all provinces/region by the sisters of the General leadership.
On Tuesday, 20 October 2009, more than 300 sisters met in the Motherhouse in Münster. Sister M. Reinlind gave a summary of the themes, which Sister Mary Beth made into a well understood PowerPoint presentation.
All sisters spoke in groups with one another, so that directly a feedback could be given and/or the sisters could ask questions. There was much interest and active participation; some comments of the consultants released discussion and also some laughter.
"Now it will start“, noticed one sister.
In our province we will continue working with individual topics and the results with all sisters. Sister M. Reinlind Böcker handed the evaluation of the Congregational questionnaire to Provincial-Superior Sister M. Birgitte.
Sister M. Reinlind ended the meeting with the following words from Jeremia 29, 11:
“I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and plans to give you a future full of hope!"
