Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Flavia Hengstermann

✝ Sunday, March 12th 2017

My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?              Psalm 42:3

Sister M. Flavia was born on September 1, 1923 in Heiden, district Borken. She entered our Congregation on January 25, 1946 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1949.

The life of Sister M. Flavia was marked by great joie de vivre, by contentment and Franciscan simplicity. She felt called and loved by God and she was loyal in her faith journey. Personal prayer and the sacred scriptures were repeatedly her sources of strength.

Sister M. Flavia was a woman of many interests. She followed intensively ecclesiastical and political events and she constantly improved her knowledge. She kept a close contact with her relatives and accompanied their ways in prayer.

Grateful, strengthened and with a prepared heart, she returned her earthly life into the protective hands of God on March 12, 2017.

May the Risen Christ give our dear Sister M. Flavia now the perfection she desired. With love and gratitude, we say farewell to Sister M. Flavia and remember her in prayer and in the Eucharistic celebration.
