Sister Dolorine Czok

Sister Dolorine, the former Agnes Czok, was born in Kempa, Silesia, Germany, on April 17, 1914, the daughter of Franz and Maria Schymassek Czok.  She entered the Congregation on May 31, 1933 in Germany and professed her religious vows on May 3, 1936 in the American Province.

Sister Dolorine arrived in America on October 5, 1933 as a postulant in our Community.  In her words, “I was sent as a missionary to the mission country of America.”  The last candidates from Germany to enter the American Province were admitted in 1934.

At 12:15 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016, Sister Death came peacefully while Sister Marilyn McCormick and staff were at her bedside.    May she rest in peace.
