Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Aquina Blicker

✝ Sunday, January 7th 2018

Jesus speaks: “Remain in me, as I remain in you!" (John 15:4)

On January 7, 2018, our dear Sister M. Aquina née Klara Blicker completed her earthly pilgrimage in St. Francis-Hospital in Münster.

Sister M. Aquina was born on August 12, 1932 in Borken-Grütlohn. She entered our Congregation on August 10, 1957 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1960.

She walked the path of a disciple of Christ in simplicity and with great faith in God and she was always ready to be of help.  For many years, Sister M. Aquina served as a nurse in the surgical department in various hospitals; as of 1972 she served in St. Marien-Hospital in Straelen. After restructuring of the house into a retirement home, Sister M. Aquina remained there until disbanding of the convent in 2001. She was always wholeheartedly devoted to the patients and residents.

In February 2001, as a senior Sister, Sister M. Aquina went to St. Irmgardis-Convent in Telgte. In May 2007 she changed to the Motherhouse. Sister M. Aquina could often be found in the Adoration Chapel and she brought many concerns of her family, of the church and the world in prayer to God.

At the beginning of 2018, she took a severe tumble and the same day she underwent surgery in St. Francis Hospital in Münster. Despite successful surgery, she could not recover. On January 7, 2018 at 6:25 PM, while her Sisters prayed the vesper service in the church, she willingly and and full of gratitude went to meet the incarnated and Risen Christ. May for her come true, in what she always put her trust: to find her last perfection and her eternal home in heaven.
