Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
"Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates,
Behold the King of glory waits;
The King of kings is drawing near,
The Savior of the world is here."
On December 16, 2019 the earthly pilgrimage of our dear Sister M. Virginette, the former Irmgard Muhle, was completed.
Sister M. Virginette was born on April 4, 1938 in Visbeck, district Vechta. She entered our Congregation on October 7, 1961 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1964.In 1965, Sister M. Virginette was certified as a state registered nurse. She then started an additional training and on June 6, 1972 she got her state registered certificate as a home economist.
For many years, Sister M. Virginette, served as the head of kitchen in various hospitals. She prepared the meals in a tasty way and instructed the staff in a friendly and good manner. In 1996, she went to the Motherhouse and worked in the "cold" kitchen. For some time she assumed domestic duties in St. John Hospice in Muenster.
In 2013, Sister M. Virginette changed to St. Heriburg-Haus as a senior Sister. As long as possible, she committed herself in the laundry by folding cloth and linen.
With pleasure, she participated in community life. She was very fond of doing needlework and delighted with this needlework many people. Sister M. Virginette and her family were very close. She joyfully lived her life as a Franciscan and she enjoyed being in the Sisters' prayer community.
Over the past months, the life became more burdensome. Sister M. Virginette was lovingly accompanied and cared for by the staff. We thank God for the life of our Sister M. Virginette and we believe, that now she is forever united with Him, whom she followed on earth. In prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist, we remember her and remain united with her.
