Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
Hold on to the Word of Christ;
then you shine like lights in the world.
Ref. Phil. 2: 16a, 15 d
Sister M. Donalda Kruse was called by God to His eternal peace today in St. Heriburg House.
Sister M. Donalda was born on July 3, 1925 in Ramsloh, now Saterland, and joined our Congregation on January 25, 1946. She made her first profession on October 28, 1948.
Sister M. Donalda was trained as a nurse in 1949. She was employed in various hospitals in the nursing care and the care for the elderly until 1988. In spring 1988 she moved to Tilbeck Stift, where she took care of the older residents. She particularly enjoyed working with the disabled. She gave them love and security, attention and a lot of time. The residents thanked her with great affection.
In 2002, Sr. M. Donalda moved to the Motherhouse in Münster. Here she worked in the library. She was often to be found in the adoration chapel, took over many prayer hours and gladly included all of her recommended concerns in her prayer. In Franciscan simplicity, she faithfully and confidently followed His Way.
Sister M. Donalda had been living in the St. Heriburg house for four years. She was all-round interested and was always happy to have contacts with her relatives, visits from fellow sisters and former staff and patients from Tilbeck Stift. She was a happy, satisfied and humble religious who also liked to withdraw. She has been feeling increasingly weak lately. She was waiting for the Risen Christ, who brought her home to the Eternal Father's House around 12:45 p.m. today, June 13, 2020.
We believe that Sister M. Donalda will now share in Christ's glory. We say goodbye to her with love and gratitude and recommend her in prayer for the closeness and goodness of God.
Due to the current situation, the Eucharist will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., only in the closest circle in our Motherhouse church. The burial for Sister M. Donalda will be in our sisters’ cemetery in Münster. May she rest in peace.
