Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Marzelina Wenting

✝ Saturday, June 13th 2020

Resurrection is our faith,

Reunion is our hope,

Remembrance is our love.

(Aurelius Augustinus)

In faithful reliance on the resurrection and in the hope of perfection in God’s glory, today at noon, June 13, 2020, our dear Sister M. Marzelina returned to her Creator.

Sister M. Marzelina was born on June 4, 1927 in Walsum / Niederrhein. She joined our Congregation on August 7, 1948 and made her first profession on May 3, 1951.

Sister M. Marzelina learned the profession of a nursing and she gladly served as a Hospital Sister. For many years she worked as a nurse and a staff nurse in various hospitals, most recently in the hospitals in Harsewinkel, Barßel and Mettingen.

From 1991 to 2020, Sister M. Marzelina looked after our older and needy sisters in Maria-Hilf house in Telgte. Attentive, loving, and patient, she helped them in their frailty, believing that Christ is present in everyone. She got the strength to do it in silence and in prayer. She liked to stay in the church.

At the beginning of 2020, Sister M. Marzelina moved to the St. Heriburg House in Münster. Due to her increasing blindness, she was dependent on help and care, which she gladly and gratefully accepted. She consciously prepared herself to go home to God, to whom she had dedicated her whole life. At noon today, June 13, she died peacefully in the Lord around 1:00 p.m.

May for her come true, in what she always put her trust: to find her last perfection in God’s glory.

Thankfully we say goodbye to her. We believe that she is now called to the eternal banquet. We remain committed to her by remembering   in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.

Due to the current situation, the Eucharist will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., only in the narrowest circle, in the chapel of St. Rochus Hospital, Telgte. Following the Mass, the burial for Sister M. Marzelina will be in the Sisters cemetery in Telgte. May she rest in peace.
