Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
My time is in your hands. Now I can be calm, be calm in you! (P. Strauch)
This morning, March 03, 2021, in St. Heriburg-Haus, Münster, our dear Sister M. Nikolaua Konerding, called by God to himself into his eternal peace.
Sister M. Nikolaua was born on September 01, 1931 in Münster and entered our congregation on October 08, 1960. She made her first profession on May 03, 1963.
In accordance with the apostolate of our religious community, Sister M. Nikolaua was serving as a nurse in various hospitals. Her deep faith and her bond with Christ shaped her life. With great personal care and empathy, she cared for the patients entrusted to her in a loving and competent manner. In 1967, she came to St. Elisabeth Hospital in Meerbusch-Lank and took over the management of an infirmary. In 1970, she moved to the St. Josef Hospital in Moers, where she served for almost eighteen years.
At the beginning of 1988, St. Marien Hospital in Lüdinghausen became a new home for Sister M. Nikolaua. She took care of incoming mail and other services in the house. She had good contacts with patients and staff. In her prayer, she entrusted many concerns of others to God.
Sister M. Nikolaua lived in St. Heriburg House since 2017. She consciously prepared herself to go home to God. This morning, trusting in God's goodness and mercy, she passed away peacefully in the Lord around 10:15 a.m.
We believe that Sister M. Nikolaua will now participate in Christ's glory. We bid her farewell with love and gratitude and in prayers, recommend her to the closeness and goodness of God.
Due to the current situation, the Eucharistic celebration will take place on Monday, March 08, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., privately in the chapel of the St. Heriburg House; afterwards Sister M. Nikolaua will be buried at our Sisters’ cemetery in Münster. May she rest in peace.
