Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
Into your hands, I commend my spirit, you have redeemed me, Lord God of truth. (Ps. 31, 6)
Yesterday evening, March 28, 2021, in St. Francis House in Nordwalde, the earthly pilgrimage of our dear Sister M. Bilhildis Anna Weiligmann, was completed.
Sister M. Bilhildis was born on May 01, 1932 in Westbevern, now Telgte, and entered our congregation on October 12, 1957. She made her first profession on May 03, 1960.
Sister M. Bilhildis graduated as a nurse in 1961 and served from 1965 to 1977 in St. Franziskus Hospital, Münster, as a supervisor of surgical ward. With great personal attention and empathy, she lovingly and competently cared for the patients entrusted to her.
Further services in her life were the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Meerbusch-Lank, the St. Joseph-Stift in Bremen, the St. Franziskus Hospital in Lohne, where she worked as a supervisor for about ten years. From 1994 to 2001, Sister M: Bilhildis served in the Maria-Frieden Rehabilitation Clinic in Telgte as convent superior. She was very much appreciated and respected. Trusting in the presence of God, she lovingly and graciously served her sisters. She took strength for her ministry from personal prayer and meditation on the Holy Scriptures.
Sister M. Bilhildis lived in St. Francis House in Nordwalde since June 2001. At the beginning, she was still working at the information desk and from 2002 to 2013; she served as a convent council sister. She enjoyed being in community and was very interested in the happenings of the Church and the world. As a devotee of Mary, she always prayed the rosary and was especially grateful when she could be in the Chapel of Grace in Telgte. She maintained good contact with her relatives for a long time.
In her last years, her strength noticeably decreased. Then she was completely dependent on care and help. She was always very grateful for the good care and help she received. When the Sisters in the convent were praying compline, Sister M. Bilhildis, well prepared, gave back her life into the loving hands of God, yesterday evening at about 5:55 p.m.; with the sentence: "Into your hands I commend my spirit".
We gratefully say farewell to Sister M. Bilhildis. We thank God for her life in our community and for all her goodness. Trusting in God's goodness and firmly believing that HE will receive her into His eternal home, we remember her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.
The funeral will be on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the parish cemetery in Nordwalde. Due to the Corona Pandemic, the usual rules apply.
