Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Castoria Ringhoff

✝ Friday, May 14th 2021

Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life." John 6.68

Today, in the early morning hours, God called our dear Sister Castoria Ringhoff home into His eternal glory.

Sister M. Castoria was born in Münster on April 5, 1930 and entered our Congregation on August 4, 1951. She made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1954.

The Lord God gave our dear Sister M. Castoria a full life in His service. She studied the profession of nursing. Sister M. Castoria lived in the convent at St. Rochus Hospital in Telgte from 1956 to 2015. At St. Rochus Hospital, she had her assignment in occupational therapy. With much love and patience, she accompanied people with long-term mental illnesses in occupational therapy. Her great passion was pottery and many of the potted vessels were offered at the annual bazaar. In her last years in Telgte she took over the care of the residents and nurses in the nurses' home. She worked with patients by giving them an occupation. In all these years Sister M. Castoria lived and worked with a great trust in God and her humor helped her in many a difficult situation.

Since Sister M. Castoria needed nursing help, she moved to St. Heriburg House in Münster in June 2015. Until a few days ago, she participated in community life. Sister M. Castoria enjoyed being outside and around the house in her wheelchair.

In recent days, her health deteriorated and she said. "I have had a long good life; now I want to go home to the Lord." Lovingly, Sister M. Castoria was accompanied during these days by the staff and her fellow Sisters. So she was ready when the Lord called her by name at 1:16 AM this morning.

With love and gratitude, we take leave of our Sister M. Castoria.  We remember her in prayer and are confident that her life has been completed in God.

Due to the current situation, the Eucharistic celebration will take place on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., only in the closest circle, in the chapel of St. Rochus Hospital, Telgte; Sister M. Castoria will then be buried in the Sisters' Cemetery in Telgte.
