Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Rolendis Vahrmann

✝ Friday, September 3rd 2021

Christ says: What you did to one of the least of my brothers, you did it to me. (Mt 25.40)

On 03 September 2021, our dear Sister M. Rolendis Vahrmann, called home by God to His eternal peace.

Sister M. Rolendis was born on February 27, 1929 in Farwick near Löningen Oldenburg and entered our congregation on January 25, 1952. She made her first profession on October 28, 1954.

In accordance with the apostolate of the community Sister M. Rolendis learned the profession of nursing. After her nursing exam, she was employed in various hospitals, including the St. Gerburgis Hospital in Nottuln, the St. Marien Hospital in Lobberich and the St. Johannes Hospital in Senden. With great personal care and empathy, she cared for the patients entrusted to her.

In 1983, Sister M. Rolendis moved to St. Josef-Stift, Sendenhorst. Here she worked for about ten years as a nurse and head nurse in the orthopedic men's ward.   She was very much appreciated and respected. In 1993 she resigned from the station management and took over the care of the chapel and sacristy in the house. Most recently she was in charge in the Convent.   Believing in the presence of God, she lovingly and kindly served her fellow sisters. She took the strength for her service from personal prayer and contemplation of the Holy Scriptures.

Sister M. Rolendis lived in St. Heriburg-Haus, Münster, since May 2018. For herself, she remained humble, unpretentious, and content. In the last few months her general condition of health has deteriorated increasingly. Trusting in God's merciful love and in great gratitude, she gave her life back into the good hands of God at around 10:00 p.m. last night.

We believe that Sister M. Rolendis will now share in Christ's glory. We bid her farewell with love and gratitude and, in prayer, recommend her to the closeness and goodness of God.

We celebrate the Eucharist on Tuesday, 07 September, 2021 at 2.00 p.m. in the Motherhouse Church in Münster; afterwards Sister M. Rolendis will be buried in our sister cemetery in Münster. Due to the corona situation, the usual rules apply.
