Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
Resurrection is our faith, Reunion our hope, Remembrance our love. (St. Augustine)
Believing in the resurrection and hoping to enter into God's glory, yesterday afternoon, on September 27, 2021, our dear Sister M. Martha Feldhaus returned to her Creator.
Sister M. Martha was born on September 16, 1931 in Ramsloh / Kreis Cloppenburg. She entered our congregation on 07 October 1954 and made her first profession on May 3, 1957. Sister M. Martha learned the profession of a nurse at the nursing school in 1957 at St. Franziskus Hospital, Münster. After completing her nursing exam, she moved to Tilbeck, where she was employed for 30 years with short interruptions. Her life was shaped by deep faith in God, tireless commitment, in loving encounters and constant willingness to help the residents entrusted to her. From 1981 to 1988, she was given the office of superior in Tilbeck. From 1989 to 1997 she was the superior in the St. Antonius Hospital in Bottrop-Kirchhellen and from 1997 to 2000 the convent superior in the St. Franziskus Hospital in Münster. She was always compassionate to her fellow sisters. From 2000, she worked for nine years in the St. Josef House in Wadersloh-Liesborn at the entrance.
In the spring of 2009, Sister M. Martha moved to the St. Anna-Stift in Kroge. As a true Franciscan, she walked the path of a disciple of Christ with sincerity and faithfulness. Her personal prayer and the Holy Scriptures were always a source of strength for her.
As a resident of the home, she has recently been completely dependent on help and care. In spite of her need for help, she has retained her satisfaction to the end. She consciously prepared herself to go home to God. Yesterday afternoon she slept away peacefully in the Lord around 4:50 pm.
May Sister M. Martha now realize what she has always trusted. We say farewell to her with gratitude. We believe that she is now called to take her place at the heavenly banquet table. Remembering her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist, we remain united to her.
We celebrate the Eucharist on Friday, 01 October 2021 at 3.00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Lohne-Kroge; afterwards the burial takes place in the local cemetery. Due to the corona situation, the usual rules apply.
