Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Hermelindis Schütte

✝ Tuesday, January 25th 2022

My time is in Your hands. Now I can be calm, be calm in You! (P. Strauch)

Believing in the resurrection and hoping in God's glory, yesterday afternoon, January 25, 2022, our dear Sister M. Hermelindis Schütte, Hospital Sister of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, returned her life into God's hands.

Sister M. Hermelindis was born in Haselünne, Emsland, on June 13, 1939. She entered our congregation on August 18, 1961. She made her first profession on May 03, 1964.

Sister M. Hermelindis learned the profession of a nurse in 1965 at the nursing school of the St. Franziskus Hospital in Münster. After her training, she worked in nursing in various hospitals, including Tilbeck from 1973 to 1993, and in 1994, she joined St. Josef House in Hamminkeln-Dingden. From 1996, she took over housekeeping duties at the Marienheim in Nettetal-Hinsbeck and from 2001 at the Marienstift in Neuenkirchen/ Oldenburg. Her life was characterized by deep faith in God, selfless service and willingness to help her fellow Sisters.

In May 2007, Sister M. Hermelindis moved to the St. Anna-Stift in Lohne-Kroge. Here she first took care of the laundry. In recent years, as a resident of the home, she was completely dependent on help and care. She consciously prepared herself for going home to God. Yesterday afternoon, at about 5:15 p.m., she passed away peacefully in the Lord.

May it become reality now for Sister M. Hermelindis that she always trusted. Gratefully we take leave of her. We remain united to her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.

We will celebrate the Eucharist on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2.30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Lohne-Kroge; afterwards, the burial takes place in the parish cemetery. Due to the Corona situation, the usual rules apply.
