Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
My God and My All! (St. Francis)
The Risen God called to Himself our dear Sister M. Purissima Linnemann.
Born: April 9, 1935
Entrance: January 29, 1955
Profession: October 28, 1957
Died: May 20, 2022
Sister M. Purissima was born in Bevergern as the daughter of the carpenter Karl Linnemann and his wife Maria. She entered our congregation at the age of 20.
After nursing training and the one-year seminar for leadership services in Göttingen, she was assigned as convent superior and head of nursing services in Damme, Cloppenburg Ahaus and Neuenkirchen /Oldenburg. Since 1972, Sister M. Purissima was particularly well able to adapt to the addicts in Neunkirchen. In the beginning she participated in the therapy sessions in order to better understand the people with their chronic illnesses. This gave her a great respect for the patients who tried with great will to free themselves from their addiction. In their superior they always had a supporter for their concerns and a caring companion. From 2000 to 2015, Sister M. Purissima was the superior of the Maria Hilf convent in Telgte, before she had to move to St. Francis House in Nordwalde for reasons of age. There she was lovingly cared for until she was able to lay down her life in the hands of the merciful God on the morning of May 20, 2022.
Sister M. Purissima was a joyful Franciscan who met people with her bright eyes and always found pragmatic solutions to their questions and problems. We remember her as a caring Sister and Superior.
Gratefully we take leave of Sister M. Purissima. We remain united to her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.
On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, we will say farewell to Sister M. Purissima at 10:00 a.m. at the parish cemetery in Nordwalde, where we will accompany her to her final resting place. Eucharist will be celebrated for her at 8:00 a.m. in the Sisters' Convent. Due to the Corona pandemic, the usual rules apply.
