✝ Tuesday, March 14th 2023

Into your hands, I commit my spirit. You have redeemed me, Lord, God of truth. (Psalm 31:6)

The good and merciful God called to himself our dear Sister M. Theresia Theresia Brügger, Hospital Sister of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis.

Born:                   February 12, 1932

Entrance:            October 2, 1956

Profession:         May 3, 1959

Died:                    March 14, 2023

Sister M. Theresa was given the name Sister Stanisla at the time of her investiture. Later she decided to take her beautiful baptismal name. She was born in Epe near Gronau and entered our congregation at the age of 24. She is qualified as a nurse in Münster and as a geriatric nurse in Munich. In addition, she completed a course to introduce young people to the nursing profession and later trained as a Pedicurist. This shaped her professional work, first in Operation department in Osterfeld and as a ward nurse in Lünen. In Ennigerloh, she worked as a geriatric nurse and in, 1986 came to Kamp-Lintfort to care for the elderly sisters. In Tilbeck, Sister M. Theresia cared for the chapel and at the same time in Osterfeld. In 2010 she became a senior in the Maria-Hilf convent and in 2015 came to the retirement home in Nordwalde, when her need for assistance increased.

Pastoral care was very close to the heart of Sister M. Theresa. She prepared herself for this by taking a correspondence course in theology, which she successfully completed.   In this way, she was able to bring many people, including her fellow sisters, closer to the good and loving God who sustains and cares for our lives. Sister M. Theresa now gave her life back into the hands of God.

We gratefully say farewell to Sister M. Theresia. We remain fraternally united to her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.

We will celebrate the Resurrection Mass for Sister M. Theresia at 10.00 on Friday, March 17, 2023, in the chapel of St. Franziskus Haus in Nordwalde and then say farewell to her at the parish cemetery, where she will find her final resting place. Afterwards, we share our memories at coffee in St. Franziskus-Haus.
