Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Kenneth Wildt

✝ Tuesday, October 11th 2016

“Only in God be at rest, my soul, for from Him comes my hope.”
Psalm 61:6

Sister M. Kenneth, the former Laverne Wildt, was born in Washington, Missouri, on March 22, 1930. She entered the Congregation on February 1, 1947 and professed her religious vows on October 4, 1949.

Sister Kenneth had various roles in her nursing career including pediatrics, psychiatry, medical/surgical, emergency room and home health.  The eleven years that she was among the Navajo were her most memorable.  At one time, she wrote, “I especially enjoyed working among the Navajo people.  It was a privilege to work with them.  The Navajo people are so close to Mother Earth, and I felt so close to God when I was in the valleys and up in the mountains.”

Sister Kenneth had expressed lately that it was time for her to prepare for death.  After several weeks of increasing weakness, Sister Death came at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, with her sisters, Helen and Carol, at her bedside.
