Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Manju Khalkho

I am born in a catholic family on May 5, 1975 in Sai Tanger Toli in the district of Jaspur in the State of Chhattisgarh.

My parents are Rafail Khalkho and Mrs. Susela Khalkho.  We are five children in the family, four girls and a boy. I have a younger religious Sister.  She belongs to the Congregation of Missionary Sisters of Ajmir.

The Sisters of St. Ann who serve in our Parish were always an inspiration for me. I used to see their life, their spirituality, and service to the poor which always attracted me to become a religious.

When I was studying in eighth class, I wrote a letter to the congregation of Don Bosco, with great desire to join in religious life but they refused to admit me because I was too young.

Then I expressed my desire to my Aunt, she is a friend of our Sr. M. Neera.   She introduced me to our Congregation. After the secondary education in 1997, I came to join our community.

I enjoyed the days of formation in community.  My formators were kind enough to guide me.  The committed life of many of our sisters were inspiration for me.

I experienced the love of Jesus more in my life.  I made my first Vows in January 25, 2003 and made the final Commitment in 2010.

I completed my higher secondary and studied Montessori training.   At present, I am teaching in our School at Ramgargh.

I am grateful for the opportunity to visit our Foundation place and the Motherhouse in Germany before attending the ISRCEP in Poland. During these visits, I experienced more about the international spirit of our Franciscan family.

I am happy to be a religious and to be a member of our International Congregation.
