Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
If you have Jesus, do you not have everything? (Sister Euthymia Üffing)
On January 8, 2018, our dear Sister Mariana née Ursula Baas died in St. Francis-Hospital in Münster.
Sister Mariana was born on March 9, 1936 in Moers on the Rhine. She entered our Congregation on October 8, 1961 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1963.
For decades, Sister Mariana placed her life in the healing ministry of our community. She served as a nurse and supervisor in various hospitals. Sister Mariana worked tirelessly in her straightforward and realistic way for the welfare of patients and staff entrusted to her.
Sister Mariana had an outgoing personality and was interested in everything. Her life was marked by deep trust in God and creative power. As an authentic Franciscan, she radiated benevolence and contentment.
Since December 2016 she lived in St. Heriburg House in Münster. A few weeks ago her health deteriorated noticeably; she was hospitalized for treatment in St. Francis Hospital in Münster. Despite intensive medical treatment, it was impossible to help her medically. On January 8, 2018 she was called home by God. May the good God grant her the fulfillment of her desire and complete her life in Christ.
