Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Dorothe van Egten

✝ Wednesday, January 10th 2018

The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I lack.
In green pastures He makes me lie down;
to still waters He leads me.
 (Psalm 23:1-2)

On January 10, 2018, in St. Heriburg House, Münster, our dear Sister M. Dorothe née Geertruida van Egten was called home by God into His eternal Father-House.

Sister M. Dorothe was born on April 22, 1929 in Rotterdam (NL). She entered our Congregation on September 18, 1960 in Leeuwarden (NL) and made her first profession of vows on May 31, 1963.

In 1964, Sister M. Dorothe came to Germany. From 1965 to 1974 she served in the ENT-department of St. Francis Hospital in Lohne. As of 1974 she lived for almost 40 years at the founding place of our Congregation in Telgte. Initially she committed herself in St. Rochus Hospital. In 1989 she changed to House 'Maria-Hilf'. Tirelessly, she committed herself for the welfare of the patients and for the welfare of our sick and elderly Sisters.

In May 2013, Sister M. Dorothe changed to St. Heriburg House in Münster. With failing health, she was very grateful for any care and the employees and her religious Sisters were pleased to provide this care for her. On January 10, 2018 she gave back her earthly life into God’s protective hands.

With love and gratitude we take our farewells from her and commend her in prayer to God’s love and presence.
