Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
Jesus lives and I with Him!
Death where are your terrors now?
Jesus lives! I know He will recall me.
From the grave, He will transfigure me in His light!
Hymnal Gotteslob (Praise of God) 336
Sister M. Pantaena was born on March 22, 1930 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer. She entered our Congregation on August 13, 1954 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1957.
For decades, Sr. M. Pantaena placed her life in the healing ministry of our Congregation. Initially, she worked as a nurse in various hospitals. In 1966, Sister M. Pantaena changed to St. Rochus-Hospital in Telgte. For nearly 50 years she worked in the laundry and later in the sewing-room. In 2010, she went to the convent Maria-Hilf in Telgte. Sister M. Pantaena felt very well in Telgte, it had become a real home to her. Her life was marked by profound faith in God and joyful creativity. As an authentic Franciscan, she radiated benevolence and contentment.
Nearly three years ago, because of increasing health problems, Sister M. Pantaena transferred to St.- Heriburg House in Münster. Then Sister M. Pantaena was hospitalized for medical treatment at ever shorter intervals. Only a few days ago, she was admitted to St. Francis Hospital. This morning, about 5:00 AM, Sister M. Pantaena went to meet the Incarnate and Risen Christ.
To her sister, our dear Sister M. Christophora, we express our deepest sympathy.
We say our farewells to Sister M. Pantaena, grateful to God for the gift of her life in our Congregation and for all her kindness. Trusting God’s goodness, sure and believing,
