                                    Hymnal Gotteslob

In faithful reliance on the resurrection and the merciful love of Jesus Christ, the earthly life of our dear Sister M. Hermengild, the former Adelheid Walterbusch, was completed on December 11, 2019 in St. Heriburg House in Münster.

Sister M. Hermengild was born on May 26, 1930 in Lüdinghausen. She entered our Congregation on October 7, 1961 and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1964.

For decades, Sister M. Hermengild placed her life in the healing service of our Congregation. For nearly 40 years she served in St. Rochus Hospital in Telgte. Here she committed herself for the welfare of the patients in the occupational therapy, especially in the field of music. Sister M. Hermengild loved music. She played the organ and she accompanied as an organist the liturgical celebrations.

In 2010, as a senior Sister, she changed to Maria-Hilf-St.Rochus convent in Telgte. She felt very comfortable in Telgte; it became a real home for her. Her life was characterized by deep trust in God and joyful creativity.

Nearly eight years ago, Sister M. Hermengild, changed to St. Heriburg House in Münster because of increasing health problems. She radiated Franciscan cordiality, benevolence and contentment. Over the past year, she was progressively dependent upon help and care and the employees and her religious Sisters were pleased to provide this care for her. This afternoon, about 3:15 PM, she went to meet the incarnated and Risen Christ.

With gratitude, we say our farewell to Sister M.Hermengild. We thank God for the life of our Sister M. Hermengild in our Congregation and for all her kindness. Trusting God’s goodness, sure and believing, that He will call her into eternal home, we think of her in our prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.
