Resurrection is our faith, Reunion is our hope, Remembrance is our love!
(
Aurelius Augustine)

In the hope of perfection of her life in Jesus Christ, our dear Sister M. Alena Lammers,  the former Adelheid Lammers, died last night, September 2, 2020.

Sister M. Alena was born on March 28, 1929 in Stadtlohn. On August 13, 1954, she entered our Congregation and made her first profession of vows on May 3, 1957.

Sister M. Alena learned the profession of nursing. From 1957 to 1990, she served as a nurse in various hospitals. With great personal attention and with great sensitivity, she lovingly and competently cared for the patients entrusted to her. She was appreciated and respected by everyone for her humble manner and her grateful nature.

In the summer of 1990, Sister M. Alena changed to Kroge to the St. Anna-Stift. Here she committed herself as a car driver for family or doctor’s visits etc. of her religious Sisters.

For the birthdays of the Sisters she composed songs and brought fun and cheerfulness to the Sisters. With pleasure, she assumed small household duties. As an authentic Franciscan, she radiated cordiality, benevolence, gratefulness and contentment. Her life was marked by a deep faith and a deep unity with Christ.  As an unpretentious and humble Sister, she walked in the footsteps of the Lord. Personal prayer and the sacred scriptures where repeatedly her sources of strength.

We know that she is now safe and secure in God’s Iove and in His peace. This is a consolation for us. We are grateful to God for the life of our Sister M. Alena and we say our farewell to her. We ask God, to reward her all her goodness during her life. We will remember her in our prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist.
