Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
"I am the resurrection and the life.
Everyone who believes in me shall never die".
(cfr. John 11, 25a,26)
Today on All Souls' Day, November 02, 2020, in St. Heriburg House, Münster, our dear Sister M. Evasia Twieling, was called by God to His eternal peace.
Sister M. Evasia was born on March 16, 1921 in Lünen and joined our congregation on June 1, 1945. She made her first profession on May 4, 1948.
In accordance with the apostolate of our congregation, Sister M. Evasia first learned the profession of a nurse in 1948, and in 1958 she was certified as a state registered dietitian supervisor. Before she moved to the St. Maria-Josef-Hospital in Greven in 1963, she worked in the hospitals: St. Elisabeth-Hospital in Ibbenbüren, St. Vinzenz-Hospital in Haselünne and St. Elisabeth-Hospital in Damme in the large kitchen. Sister M. Evasia was very committed and always ready for action. Her cheerful and humorous nature made her very popular. At the age of 67 she gave the management of the large kitchen into younger hands.
Sister M. Evasia then moved to the Maria-Hilf convent in Telgte in 1988. There she worked in the kitchen. With much love and cheerfulness, she cared for the physical well-being of her fellow sisters. In Franciscan simplicity, she walked the path of discipleship with faith and trust and with determination. She gladly included all her concerns in her prayer.
In April 2012 she moved to St. Heriburg House. In recent years she has become increasingly dependent on help and care, which she was happy to receive. This afternoon, in the presence of a few fellow sisters, trusting in God's goodness and mercy, she gave her life back into the good hands of God at about 3:15 p.m.
We believe that Sister M. Evasia will now partake in Christ's glory. In love and gratitude, we take leave of her and recommend her in prayer to God's closeness and goodness.
Due to the current situation, the Eucharistic celebration will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 2. 00 p.m., only in the inner circle, in the chapel of St. Rochus-Hospital, Telgte; afterwards Sister M. Evasia will be buried in our Sisters' Cemetery in Telgte. May she rest in peace.
