Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Rolanda Heeck

✝ Monday, February 8th 2021

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live.” cfr.  Jn. 11:25

Christ, our Lord and Savior, called this morning, February 08, 2021 our dear Sister M. Rolanda Heeck, home to His eternal peace.

Sister M. Rolanda was born on September 05, 1931 in Gelsenkirchen-Buer and entered our Congregation on August 19, 1961. She made her first profession on May 3, 1964.

For Sister M. Rolanda, the city of Münster became her home as a child. After joining our Congregation, she lived in the Motherhouse for over 50 years. She was in charge of the staff in the employees' hostel of St. Francis Hospital and served as the home manager for many years, until 1991. She stood up for their concerns and worked with great zeal. Sister M. Rolanda always radiated kindness, cordiality and contentment. She gladly used her voice as a choir member at the Motherhouse.

From February 1991 she assisted the Motherhouse Superior and supported her, worked at the post office and took care of the “cafe” for the guest sisters in the ‘Markus floor’. In autumn 2017, she moved to the St. Francis House in Nordwalde.

Full of gratitude, Sister M. Rolanda devoted herself to the apostolate of prayer and she joyfully enjoyed walking in the gardens. She continued to have good contacts with the Motherhouse. In the past few weeks, her strength progressively diminished. Well prepared she returned her life into God’s good hands at around 7:45 this morning.

We gratefully say goodbye to Sister M. Rolanda. We thank God for her life in our community and also for all her goodness. Trusting in God's goodness and firmly believing that HE will receive her into the eternal home, we remember her in prayer and in the Holy Eucharist.

We celebrate the Eucharist on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Motherhouse Church followed by the funeral in the Sisters cemetery in Münster.  Due to the corona situation, the usual rules apply.
