Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis

Sister M. Alkmunda kleine Hillmann

✝ Saturday, March 27th 2021

Thus says the Lord:

I am the way, the truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 14.6

Today at midnight, March 27, 2021, our dear Sister M. Alkmunda kleine Hillmann was called home by God to His eternal peace.

Sister M. Alkmunda was born on April 07, 1925 in Sierhausen, district of Vechta, and entered our congregation on January 27, 1950. She made her first profession on October 28, 1952.

In 1952, Sister M. Alkmunda graduated as a nurse. Then she went to St. Bonifatius Hospital in Leeuwarden, Netherlands in 1953. Here she worked as a nurse and supervisor. Sister M. Alkmunda enjoyed working with the sick. She gave them love, security and attention. The Netherlands became her second home. For many years she had good contact with the former employees and acquaintances.

In summer of 1992, Sr. M. Alkmunda moved to the Motherhouse in Münster. For more than 20 years, she served the patients in the escort service. She was always approachable and helpful. She was also often to be found in the adoration chapel, took over many prayer hours and gladly included all the concerns recommended to her in prayer. In Franciscan simplicity, she walked the path of discipleship with faith and trust.

Sister M. Alkmunda lived in St. Heriburg house for about three years. She was a woman of many interests in all aspects of life. Sister M. Alkmunda was always happy to have contact with her relatives, and to receive visits from her companion sisters and former employees. She was a happy, contented and humble religious who also liked to withdraw from time to time. In the last few weeks her health was not good, so that she was completely dependent on help and care. She was waiting for Christ, the Risen One, who took her home to the Eternal Father's house tonight, March 27, 2021. at around 0:10 a.m.

We believe that Sister M. Alkmunda will now share in Christ's glory.  With love and gratitude, we take our farewell from her and commend her in prayer to the presence and benevolence of God.

Due to the current situation, the Eucharistic celebration will take place on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.; only in the closest circle in the chapel of the St. Heriburg House; afterwards Sister M. Alkmunda will be buried in our Sister’s cemetery in Münster. May she rest in peace.
