Hospital Sisters of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, His love endures forever! Psalm 106, 1
Believing in the resurrection and the hope to enter into God's glory, this morning, January 13, 2022, our dear Sister M. Montana Ludmann Hospital Sister of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis, returned her life into God's hands.
Sister M. Montana was born in Molbergen-Dwergte on April 18, 1926, and entered our congregation on August 11, 1950. She made her first profession on May 03. 1953.
Sister M. Montana learned the profession of a nurse in 1953 in the nursing school at St. Franziskus-Hospital, Münste. After her training, she was employed as a nurse in various hospitals until 1970.
Sister M. Montana came to Haltern am See to the St. Sixtus Hospital in 1971. Here she worked tirelessly for 27 years in the sewing room in the linen supply department. She was always conscientious and self-sacrificing.
In the summer of 1998, Sister M. Montana moved back to her home in Oldenburg and came to Lohne-Kroge to the St. Anna-Stift. At first, she took over small services and was grateful to be able to spend a few more years with her blood sister - Sister M. Theophana - to spend the evening of her life together. As a Franciscan, she walked the path of following Christ sincerely and faithfully. She gained the strength again and again in prayer, especially in silent meditation, in which she entrusted all her concerns and questions to God.
As a resident of the house, she was completely dependent on help and care in her last years. She consciously prepared herself to go home to God. This morning 6.50 AM she passed away peacefully in the Lord.
May it become a reality for Sister M. Montana what she always trusted. Gratefully we bid her farewell. Remembering her in prayer and in the celebration of the Eucharist, we remain united to her.
We celebrate the Eucharist on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 2.30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Lohne-Kroge; afterwards the burial takes place in the parish cemetery. Due to the corona situation, the usual rules apply.
